Chris Simcox

Chris Simcox

Today's award for conservative Republican barf bag goes to Chris Simcox, briefly a Republican candidate for one Arizona senate seat. The story is dated, 2016, but conservative malignance is timeless. His first appearance in the news was in 2004 when he formed The Minuteman Project intended to take vigilante action against people crossing the southern border. The former Border Operations Manager of The Minuteman Project, Shawna Forde, was convicted of double murder after leaving it to form a splinter group. That's not on Simcox, but it does speak to the nature of the group he founded. Only the best people, the Committee guesses.

The other organization Simcox headed, the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, was co-founded by J. T. Ready, a neo-Nazi who killed four before taking his own life. Too bad he didn't do it in reverse order. That's also not on Simcox, but birds of a feather flock together.

On April 16, 2010, Simcox's third wife was granted an order of protection after she alleged that he "brandished a gun and threatened to shoot her, their children and any police officers who tried to protect them."

On June 19, 2013, Simcox was arrested by the Phoenix Police Department on multiple counts related to child molestation and sexual conduct with a minor. The arrest took place in Phoenix, Arizona and involved three girls under the age of 10 years, one of which was his own daughter. He was charged with two counts of child molestation, two counts of sexual conduct with a minor, and one of the attempted molestations of a child. Simcox rejected a plea deal on November 21, 2014, maintaining his innocence. His trial was set for March 2, 2015, and Simcox sought to represent himself. But he failed to appear in court on his trial date, citing a medical condition. A new trial was set for April 4, 2016. He had planned to act as his own attorney and intended to cross examine his accusers, but on March 22, he waived his rights to question his accusers and allowed his attorney to question them. On June 8, he was found guilty of molesting a five-year-old girl. On July 11, Chris Simcox was sentenced to 19.5 years in prison.

So, yeah. Another conservative barf bag.

Never ever underestimate the malignance of conservatives.

Ted Cruz

Today's conservative barf bag award goes to Ted Cruz. He slammed a book by Professor Ibrim X. Kindi, Antiracist Baby, while grilling Supreme Court Candidate Jackson. The book immediately jumped on Friday to Amazon's #1 bestseller of books for children.

Thank you, Cancun Cruz.

Jeff Fortenberry

March 25, 2022

 Jeff Fortenberry

Today's conservative barf bag award goes to Republican Representative Jeff Fortenberry of Nebraska.

He was found guilty on Thursday of concealing information and making false statements to federal authorities in regard to an investigation looking into illegal campaign contributions in his 2016 reelection campaign, the US Attorney’s Office of the Central District of California said.

 From CNN:

Fortenberry, 61, was charged last October with three felony counts, including one count of scheming to falsify and conceal material facts and two counts of making false statements to federal investigators.

“After learning of illegal contributions to his campaign, the congressman repeatedly chose to conceal the violations of federal law to protect his job, his reputation and his close associates,” US Attorney Tracy L. Wilkison said in a statement. “The lies in this case threatened the integrity of the American electoral system and were designed to prevent investigators from learning the true source of campaign funds.”

The Committee posts these awards because it is easy to miss what a parade of monsters and goofballs conservatives are until you start building the list.  No doubt, he was supportive of voter suppression bills because he was concerned about the integrity of US elections.

Never ever underestimate the malignance of conservatives.

Evan Neumann

 Evan Neumann

Today's conservative barf bag is Evan Neumann.  He is on the FBI's most wanted list for assaulting police officers on January 6.  He deployed the standard conservative response, denial, despite the video evidence that he did.  He has chosen to go home to Belarus, where he will discover what real tyranny looks like.

Never ever underestimate the malignance of conservatives.

Wendy Rogers

March 20, 2022

 Wendy Rogers

Today's Conservative Barf Bag Award goes to Senator Wendy Rogers.

She fawned over Nick Fuentes, the leader of a white nationalist movement , and told his followers that she fantasizes about hanging her perceived enemies from gallows.

“I’ve said we need to build more gallows. If we try some of these high-level criminals, convict them and use a newly built set of gallows, it’ll make an example of these traitors who have betrayed our country,” Sen. Wendy Rogers, R-Flagstaff, said Feb. 25 in her speech to the white nationalist America First Political Action Conference in Florida.

Rogers told the white nationalists who were assembled in the ballroom at the Orlando World Center Marriott that they were “patriots.”

AFPAC opened with Fuentes soliciting a round of applause from the crowd for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The white nationalists chanted in response, “Putin! Putin! Putin!”

In his closing speech, Fuentes said “the United States is the evil empire in the world.”

“Now, they’re going and saying, “‘Vladimir Putin is Adolf Hitler,’ as if that isn’t a good thing,” he said, before chuckling a rehearsed nervous laugh and adding, “Oops, I shouldn’t have said that.”

Demonstrating an astonishing ability to keep mutually exclusive ideas functioning in one skull, Rogers went on to say “Now, they deplatform and debank people like Nick Fuentes, and even President (Donald) Trump,” she said. “This is like the USSR, but worse.”

Never ever underestimate the malignance of conservatives.

Joanna Miller and Peter Navarro

03/18/22

 Joanna Miller and Peter Navarro

A twofer award for the conservative of the day goes to Joanna Miller and Peter Navarro.

 From Heather Cox Richardson:

Today’s other big news came from The Guardian’s Hugo Lowell: the report alleging that Trump lost the 2020 election because of Dominion Voting Systems—a report that Trump used to justify his attempt to overturn the election, including a plan to assume emergency powers—was not written by a volunteer lawyer after the election, as previously understood. In fact, it was written by a senior White House aide, Joanna Miller, who worked for key Trump advisor Peter Navarro. Navarro incorporated the Miller report into one of his own, which he and aides had begun to write two weeks before the election even happened.

That is, it was the White House itself that invented the “report” that the election was stolen, even before the election took place, and then used that report to justify the Big Lie that 19 state legislatures have relied on to restrict voting.

Peter Schiff

March 17, 2022

 Peter Schiff

Today's repulsive conservative award goes to Peter Schiff, a Republican, of course, for his criticism of President Zelensky. Schiff objected to Zelensky addressing congress while wearing the clothes he wears in the war zone. The Committee is reminded of when conservatives attacked Obama for wearing a tan suit. That's the best they've got.

Never ever underestimate the malignance of conservatives.

Brian Seitz

March 16, 2022

Brian Seitz

The conservative Barf Bag of the day is Missouri state representative Brian Seitz introduced HB 2810, a bill that would make it a class A felony if “a person or entity…imports, exports, distributes, delivers, manufactures, produces, prescribes, administers, or dispenses,” or attempts to do any of the above, in the context of (1) an abortion that “was performed or induced or was attempted…on a woman carrying an unborn child of more than ten weeks gestational age” or (2) an abortion that “was performed or induced or was attempted…on a woman who has an ectopic pregnancy.” Ectopic pregnancies almost never result in a live birth. If this bill becomes law, women who experience ectopic pregnancies will probably die because no medical intervention on their behalf is legal.

Conservatives compete with each other to see who can be the most nutty or evil.

Never ever underestimate the malignance of conservatives.

Tina Peters

March 10, 2022

Tina Peters

Today’s conservative of the day is Tina Peters. She was Mesa County’s top election administrator in Colorado. She has degraded confidence in US elections by promoting the mango mobster’s lies about the 2020 election. She was just indicted on ten counts of election fraud.

From The New York Times:

Colorado County Clerk Indicted in Voting Security Breach Investigation

The Mesa County clerk, Tina Peters, is charged with 10 counts related to tampering with voting equipment. A Republican running for secretary of state, she has promoted false claims of fraud in the 2020 election.

Tina Peters, a county clerk running as a Republican for secretary of state of Colorado, was indicted Tuesday evening on 10 criminal counts related to allegations that she tampered with election equipment after the 2020 election.

The indictment, which the district attorney of Mesa County, Colo., announced on Wednesday, is connected to Ms. Peters’s work as the top county election administrator, a role in which she promoted former President Donald J. Trump’s false claims that the election had been stolen. Because of Ms. Peters’s unusual scheme to interfere with voting machines, state officials “could not establish confidence in the integrity or security” of elections equipment, the indictment said.

Ms. Peters’s case is a prominent example of how false theories about election fraud and Republican-led calls for “audits” of the 2020 vote count have created election-security threats involving the integrity of voting machines, software and other election equipment. And in running for secretary of state, Ms. Peters is among a group of brazenly partisan candidates who claim that Mr. Trump may have won the election and who are transforming races around the country for such once little-known offices.

A grand jury indicted Ms. Peters on both felony and misdemeanor charges, including counts of attempting to influence a public servant, criminal impersonation, conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, identity theft, first-degree official misconduct, violation of duty and failing to comply with the secretary of state.

In a statement, Ms. Peters accused Democrats of using the grand jury “to formalize politically motivated accusations” against her.

“Using legal muscle to indict political opponents during an election isn’t new strategy, but it’s easier to execute when you have a district attorney who despises President Trump and any constitutional conservative like myself who continues to demand all election evidence be made available to the public,” she said.

The grand jury also indicted Belinda Knisley, Ms. Peters’s deputy, on six counts. A lawyer for Ms. Knisley did not respond to a request for comment.

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that Ms. Knisley and Ms. Peters were both in custody.

The indictment focused on how passwords used to update voting machine software had been leaked online in August 2021.

Beginning in April, Ms. Peters and Ms. Knisley “devised and executed a deceptive scheme which was designed to influence public servants, breach security protocols, exceed permissible access to voting equipment, and set in motion the eventual distribution of confidential information to unauthorized people,” according to the indictment, which linked their actions to the release of the passwords and other confidential information.

Jessi Romero, the voting systems manager at the Colorado secretary of state’s office, told the grand jury that the Mesa County elections office — which Ms. Peters led as county clerk and recorder — had contacted him in April to request that members of the public be allowed to observe a software update process in person. Mr. Romero responded that this was not allowed.

On May 13, according to the indictment, Ms. Knisley requested an access badge and an official email address for a “temp employee” who would represent the county on site during the software update. But that person was not an employee and had no right to be on site under state regulations, the indictment said.

“Relying on the misrepresentations” of Ms. Knisley — who later said she had been acting on Ms. Peters’s instructions — Mesa County granted the person an access badge for the election building. He later returned the badge to Ms. Knisley, the indictment said.

But, according to the indictment, county records show that someone used that badge to enter secure areas of the election offices on May 23, two days before the scheduled software update.

A few days earlier, according to the indictment, the security cameras in the election office had been turned off at Ms. Knisley’s request.

Prosecutors have previously said they believe that Ms. Peters entered a secure area of a warehouse where voting machines were stored and copied hard drives and election-management software from the machines.

The indictment does not explain why prosecutors believe Ms. Peters or Ms. Knisley wanted the material.

In early August, the conservative website Gateway Pundit posted passwords for the county’s election machines. Shortly afterward, the Mesa County machines’ software showed up on large monitors at a South Dakota election symposium organized by the conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell and attended by Ms. Peters.

A Colorado judge stripped Ms. Peters of her duties overseeing last year’s election after a lawsuit was filed by Secretary of State Jena Griswold, a Democrat. Ms. Peters announced last month that she would run for secretary of state against Ms. Griswold.

“Officials who carry out elections do so in public trust and must be held accountable when they abuse their power or position,” Ms. Griswold said in a statement on Wednesday.

The indictment was announced by the Mesa County district attorney, Daniel P. Rubinstein, and the Colorado attorney general, Phil Weiser.

“The grand jury, randomly selected from the same pool of citizens that elected Clerk Tina Peters and chosen months before any of these alleged offenses occurred, concluded there is probable cause that Clerk Peters and Deputy Clerk Knisley committed crimes,” Mr. Rubinstein and Mr. Weiser said in a statement in which they added that their offices would provide no further comment “to maintain the investigation’s impartiality.”

Carey Lee Cramer

Carey Lee Cramer

Today’s conservative Barf Bag Award goes to Carey Lee Cramer, a conservative political consultant.

From Myplainview.com:

He was convicted in 2006 on four counts of sexual assault involving children.

A jury deliberated almost two days before convicting him of aggravated sexual assault of a child, two counts of indecency with a child by contact and one count of indecency with a child by exposure. He was cleared of nine other charges.

Cramer, who now lives in Tucson, Ariz., gained national attention during the 2000 presidential election when his McAllen company created a TV ad accusing the Clinton-Gore administration of giving away nuclear technology to China in exchange for campaign contributions. The spot was modeled after the infamous 1964 "Daisy" nuclear scare commercial and was pulled after a barrage of Democratic criticism.

John Bryan

Today’s winner of the conservative Barf Bag Award is John Bryan of Floral City, FL, where he was the Republican City Council chairman and close ally of the mayor.  Twice, with two different wives, he adopted and raped underage girls, 15 and 17.  When police were on their way to his house to arrest him on two felony molestation charges, he committed suicide.  The details are too sad and too horrible to retell here.  Google him for the sordid story if you care to.  In his suicide note, in which he misspelled his wife’s name, he claimed that nothing was more important to him than his family.

Never ever underestimate the malignance of conservatives.

Jeff Kruse

04/12/22

State Senator Jeff Kruse of Oregon

Today’s winner of the Conservative Barf Bag Award goes to Republican State Senator Jeff Kruse of Oregon.  He has achieved the conservative trifecta for denigrating women, minorities, and workers.

He was forced to resign after allegations from multiple women for groping them, “prolonged hugging”, and initiating unwanted touching.  Interns – Annie Montgomery, 31, and Adrianna Martin-Wyatt, 26 – both worked in Kruse’s office in 2017 before he was forced to resign from his position over harassment allegations.  They have initiated a lawsuit against Kruse and the Republican leadership.  Montgomery said Kruse called her “sexy” several times and would refer to her as “my baby lawyer.”  And “There’d be a policy discussion about a bill, to include me he would say ‘and what about you little girl, what do you think?’” But no one said anything, and Montgomery felt she couldn’t either.

Then after the State Board of Education required schools to rid themselves of mascots that insulted local tribes, Kruse authored a bill that loosened those requirements.  In defending his bill, Kruse asked: "do we change the entire world for the small few [sic]?”

And he voted to prevent an increase in the minimum wage.

So, yeah, another conservative barf bag.  Oh, and what would possess a person to name two of his children Gusty and Breezy.  Really?

Never ever underestimate the malignance of conservatives.

Andrew Clyde

April 13, 2022

Andrew Clyde

For the first time in the modern era, the coveted Conservative Barf Bag Award is being given to one barf bag for a second time.  While the cesspool of candidates is vast and deep, Andrew Clyde, Republican Representative to the national house, floated to the top with distinction achieving new levels of barf-bagginess.  Recall Clyde characterize the Republican rioters on January 6 as “a normal tourist visit.”  (See the picture below of him preparing to greet the tourists

From the NY Times:

In a bitterly divided Congress, it was a rare measure that had been expected to sail through without a fight.  A bill to name a federal courthouse in Tallahassee, Fla., after Justice Joseph W. Hatchett, the first Black man to serve on the Florida Supreme Court — sponsored by the state's two Republican senators and backed unanimously by its 27 House members — was set to pass the House last month and become law with broad bipartisan support.
But in a last-minute flurry, Republicans abruptly pulled their backing with no explanation and ultimately killed the measure, leaving its fate unclear, many of its champions livid and some of its newfound opponents professing ignorance about what had happened.
Asked what made him vote against a measure that he had co-sponsored, Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., was brief and blunt.
"I don't know," he said.
The real answer is as much an allegory about the state of House Republicans in 2022 as it is about a federal building in Florida. With little notice and nothing more than a 23-year-old news clipping, a rightwing, first-term congressman mounted an 11th-hour effort on the House floor to convince his colleagues that Hatchett, a trailblazing judge who broke barriers as the first Black State Supreme Court justice south of the Mason-Dixon Line, was undeserving of being honored.

(That congressman is Andrew Clyde and the clipping reported Hatchett prohibiting school led prayers.)

[Clyde] voted against a resolution to give the Congressional Gold Medal to police officers who responded that day. He also opposed the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act, which made lynching a federal hate crime and explicitly outlawed an act that was symbolic of the country's history of racial violence. Clyde also voted against recognizing Juneteenth as a federal holiday.
The naming of federal buildings is among the more mundane tasks that Congress undertakes, and it is usually a consensus matter. But Clyde's late objection turned the routine ritual into a conservative litmus test for Republicans, who quickly joined him in turning against Hatchett.
The bill failed on a 238-187 vote, falling short of the two-thirds threshold, with 89% of Republicans opposed.

Lynn Hutchings

04/14/22

Lynn Hutchings

Today’s recipient of the Conservative Barf Bag Award goes to Wyoming Republican Representative Lynn Hutchings.  The severity of her demented brain processes made her a shoo-in for the award.

From Wikipedia:

Hutchings generated controversy in February 2019 when the group Wyoming Equality reported Hutchings compared homosexuality to bestiality/pedophilia to a group of young people she was meeting with. The group was composed of 14- and 15-year-old students who were members of their school's gay-straight alliance. The students were visiting the legislature on Feb. 1 to lobby support for House Bill 230, legislation which sought to protect LGBTQ people from job and hiring discrimination. The bill died when it failed to meet a deadline in the Wyoming House of Representatives. The complaint claims Hutchings made the following statement to the students: "If my sexual orientation was to have sex with all of the men in there and I had sex with all of the women in there and then they brought their children and I had sex with all of them and then brought their dogs in and I had sex with them, should I be protected for my sexual orientation?"

Hutchings argued that without the death penalty, Jesus Christ would not have been able to die to absolve the sins of mankind, and therefore capital punishment should be maintained. She stated, "The greatest man who ever lived died via the death penalty for you and me. I'm grateful to him for our future hope because of this. Governments were instituted to execute justice. If it wasn't for Jesus dying via the death penalty, we would all have no hope."

Noah Revoy

04/21/22

Noah Revoy

Today’s Conservative Barf Bag Award goes to life coach Noah Revoy.  Here are tidbits of his advice:

·       Men, when something needs to be done, do it. Do not expect your woman to always understand and approve of your decisions.  Be firm but gentle with her. Do not ask her permission. Do not explain yourself to her. Do not argue with her. Just do what needs to be done.  If you face your responsibilities unflinchingly your woman will come to trust you even when she does not understand you or your ways.

·       Voting tip for women: Copy your husband's ballot.

·       If you have no husband, copy the ballot of the most successful man you personally know.

·       Ladies, do you want to save the world? Learn how to inspire the men in your life by your actions.  Feminine gratitude and receptiveness inspires the masculine leadership we need to save the world.

·       In 2020 you have lost your sovereignty. The government can send thugs into your home at any time to take your stuff, you, your wife and your children and there is little that you can do to stop them. They can deny you basic human rights and you have no recourse.

·       We must rebuild the west, one testicle at a time.

·       Men seeking marriage do NOT care if you are "very successful" or ambitious or "have a lot going on". It is actually a HUGE turnoff. The time you have been dumping into your career is a waste to the man looking for a wife and mother for his children.

·       Feminism is a predatory attack against women perpetrated by evil forces within our own nations and abroad.  They targeted the most venerable of our people, women and by extension children.  Therefore, men, we must treat this attack as we would any other assault on our women and crush it with full force where ever we see it.  Leave no space for feminism in western society, no matter how small. Give it no quarter and no mercy.  Most women don’t want to be emancipated, they want to be benevolently dominated by a strong man they respect, the Alpha.

·       Straight masculine men don’t want a ball busting career dude with breasts who tells them what type of woman they should date, they want a sweet and feminine lady.

So, yeah.  A total barf bag.

Never ever underestimate the malignance of conservatives.
