The Committee gives the Conservative Barf Bag Award to Aaron Brutger for yet another case of conservative violence against a woman.
From The Minnesota Star Tribune
A GOP-endorsed state Senate candidate from central Minnesota was arrested in 2009 after his former fiancee told police he had slammed a car door on her legs and strangled her until she lost consciousness during an argument. Prosecutors charged Aaron Brutger, who was 26 at the time, with one felony count of domestic assault by strangulation and one misdemeanor count of domestic assault. Three months later, Brutger pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct as part of a plea agreement.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Stearns County District Court, deputies were sent to a residence in Eden Lake Township on a domestic assault report just before 8 a.m. Dec. 30, 2009. The complainant, who was the woman's father, told police that he contacted authorities at her request.

She said they had argued after Brutger denied her gas money, so she went to her vehicle to see how much fuel was in the tank. She said Brutger followed her, pushed her into the car and slammed the door on her legs, according to the report.
The woman said Brutger then dragged her by her jacket into the residence, the report said. She said he told her "he was going to kill her" and "she was afraid because he's pulled a gun on her in the past," according to the report.
The woman said that when she told Brutger she was going to call the police, he "stood behind her and put his arm around her throat and began squeezing." She said she "blacked out and fell to the floor on a pile of clothes."
She then called her father and told him to call 911.
Deputies photographed a red mark and scratches on the woman's neck, as well as bruising starting to form by her shin.
